HNL Flag Design
Vexillology
We were given the following assignment: Design a flag for the city of Honolulu. Going into it, we were informed about "Vexillology," which is the study of flags; knowing the difference between what a good and bad flag looks like. You want to keep colors to a maximum of 3, designs to be simple, but have that recognition, and have no typography what so ever on your flag.
With keeping vexillology in mind, doing your research on any key information, history, culture, etc. about Honolulu can be helpful in designing the flag. Using those informations can help you simplify your design and your color palette.
